Diamond Mountain Speedway First Track in Utah to Host Races

Wanting to welcome the public for some fun at the racetrack, the Diamond Mountain Speedway organizers got creative.  “We sped off with our first two nights of racing in May,” shares one of the event organizers, Jim Wallace. “The race was the first in Utah because the crew at the racetrack moved some of the bleachers to allow for more car parking which gave the spectators ‘social distancing’ much like the drive-in theaters. We encouraged distance and emphasized face masks as optional.” The Speedway is scheduled for races one weekend each month through the summer. On June 27th, the High Country Dwarf Car Association will be at the track as they tour the western United States. Dwarf cars look like miniature vintage cars which are built around high powered motorcycle engines. In July on the 17th and 18th, the track will welcome Colorado Vintage Oval racecars, fully restored antique racecars from years ago.
