It’s election season and when it is all said and done Utah will have a new Governor in the coming year. Thanks to a local effort to ensure candidates pay attention to issues facing rural Utah, rural Utah’s first Gubernatorial debate has been organized and will be held this coming Monday, June 8th, from 6 to 7:30pm at the V-6 Media Studios in Vernal. The broadcast will be aired on rural Utah radio stations, rural Utah Chamber of Commerce Facebook pages, on KSL.com, and various other rural Utah media outlets. The event is the first of its kind and the debate questions will come directly from county leaders in the rural areas throughout the state of Utah. Each candidate has been invited to participate in person or, if needed, digitally online. Greg Hughes, Spencer Cox, and Thomas Wright have all confirmed that they will be participating in person. The Huntsman campaign declined the opportunity to participate in the debate and will instead provide a campaign message that will be shared at the end of the debate. The debate will be available locally through V-6 Media, and broadcast live on Newstalk 104.5 FM and AM 920 KVEL as well as under the KVEL tab on www.BasinNow.com.
