Vernal Regional Airport Manager Doug Brown has announced his resignation after accepting a new career opportunity. “It has been an honor to work here at the Vernal Regional Airport over the last six and half years,” shares Brown. “There has been a lot of change and great accomplishments. I am extremely blessed to have had a great operations team to help improve the airport. The future is bright and there will be many great things to come for this community.” Brown says he hopes the community will continue to rally around the airport and the services it provides. He has accepted a position as the Deputy Director at La Crosse Regional Airport in La Crosse Wisconsin, an adventure the entire Brown family is excited for. Like many others, Uintah Transportation Special Service District Director Cheryl Meier is sorry to see Brown go as he was a great asset to the airport but wishes him the best. “I am excited to see him move forward on his vision to better airport operations,” shares Meier. “The UTSSD knows that we have lost a valuable player in the aviation world and I would like to wish him the best for him and his family on this next step in his life.” The UTSSD Board met Thursday evening with the hiring process of a new manager part of the discussion. Brown’s last day as airport manager is June 5th and he starts in his new position in Wisconsin on June 22nd.
