TriCounty Health Give’M Health: National Bike to Work Week

by | May 8, 2019 | News | 0 comments

Next week is National Bike to Work Week and TriCounty Health Promotion Division Director Jake Isaacson is setting the example and encouraging others to join him in giving biking versus driving a try. “The more you get out the better,” says Isaacson, citing data that say biking not only promotes health but can also save you money! Forty percent of all trips in the United States are less than two miles, which makes biking a feasible and fun way to get to work. “With increased interest in healthy, sustainable and economic transportation options,” shares TriCounty Health, “it’s not surprising that, from 2000 to 2013, the number of bicycle commuters in the U.S. grew by more than 62 percent.” Even if you’re not ready to commit long term, next week is the perfect time to give biking to work a try as part of Bike to Work Week
from May 12th to May 18th.
