While there was originally a shortage of tests, the state of Utah now has unused supplies and has opened up more COVID-19 drive-through testing locations around the state, including one that opened in Vernal on Thursday. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office is helping spread the word. “Please sign up so we can get a baseline for our area,” shares Uintah County Sheriff Steve Labrum. “This will help local officials make informed decisions on when we can relax the public health orders and advisories.” The Sheriff’s Office also shared that anyone interested in being tested, regardless of their symptoms, can fill out the online questionnaire at www.testutah.com and those who qualify will be issued a unique QR code to bring to the site at their prearranged time. Testing takes place while individuals remain in their vehicles and testing will not be conducted on individuals who don’t have identification or a QR code. TriCounty Health Department asked on Thursday that those who come to the testing site at the Vernal location keep their windows rolled up and have the QR code and ID handy when coming through the line. If you have neighbors or family members that need help filling out the online questionnaire, please offer your assistance.
