UDOT has announced that they will begin the Gusher Highway 40 project this week. “Work on the project will primarily take place during the day, except the week of April 13th, when most of the operation will take place at night,” shares UDOT. “Starting April 20th, work will shift back to daytime hours.” From Tuesday, April 14th, to Friday April 17th, overnight traffic will be limited to one lane with flaggers directing traffic from 8pm to 5am. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes during the flagging operation. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 mph through the work zone during construction. On Tuesday, there will be crews working during the daytime hours to re-stripe the road ahead of the overnight crews which will be setting up traffic control devices, pulverizing the south shoulder, and placing a concrete barrier on the shoulder of the roadway. UDOT shares that nearby residents and businesses can expect an increase in noise, dust, and vibration during the pulverizing operation. Driveways will be inaccessible for about 10 minutes as the machine passes.
