A series of suspicious fires near Rangely have led a joint investigation between the Rangely Police Department and the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office to apprehend a 17-year-old juvenile. On March 31st and April 1st the Rangely Fire Department responded to two small brush fires, one near La Mesa Circle and one near Halfturn Road. There were two more brush fires on April 8th north of White River Village in Rio Blanco County. One near West Rodeo Road and another one near CR 46 and CR 23A. All the fires were quickly put out with minor property damage by the Rangely Fire Department and all of them were suspicious. The apprehended 17-year-old will be charged for setting all four fires.
