Uncertainty in the oil and gas industry is not slowing down the partners working to see the Uinta Basin Rail Project become a reality. Mike Stengel of Newstalk KVEL’s Uintah Basin Today Show spoke with Mike McKee, Executive Director of the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition, on Thursday regarding the project. “Mike Mckee said he had spoken with their partner Mark Michel with Drexel Hamilton,” reports Stengel. “Mr. Michel told Mr. Mckee that Drexel Hamilton is continuing to advance the commercialization of the Uinta Basin Railroad Project. That the effects on the oilfield project are believed to be temporary, rather than long term, said Mr. Michel. Seven Counties Infrastructure Coalition (SCIC) Environmental Impact Study and project planning is ongoing and SCIC continues to work with their partners Drexel Hamilton and Rio Grand Pacific on the commercialization of the railroad, which is well underway.” Those interested in learning more about this project can visit www.uintabasinrailway.com
