After 40 years in the medical industry and six and half years as the CEO of Ashley Regional Medical Center, Ben Cluff has retired. Life Point says it will take two to three months to officially fill the position as the process is very particular and very detailed. For now, Ashley Regional Medical Center welcomes Steve Seltzer as the Interim CEO who was introduced at the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon last week. Seltzer, who calls Houston, Texas home, was in Vernal six years ago and was impressed with the town then. He is even more impressed now with the changes including the airport and the updates to the hospital. The new Women’s Wing, remodeling throughout the hospital, and the education center have left a real impression on Seltzer who has been an interim CEO at several of the 84 hospitals that Life Point has. He really likes Ashley Regional Medical Center as the physical aspects, quality scores, and recognition awards for the excellent service shows a long term commitment. Steve stated that “these types of quality processes don’t happen overnight but are put in place and developed over time.” Seltzer says he is happy to be back and plans to enjoy his time here.
