The 2019 Santa’s Community Effort was a huge success. The Vernal Rotary Club recently thanked all who took tags from the trees and purchased gifts for local kids in need last Christmas making it possible to help 671 local children. The brains behind the operation are already looking ahead to make 2020 another great year and there’s an opportunity to help this month. Every year, the Vernal Rotary Club hosts a Casino Night fundraising event that helps fund Santa’s Community Effort for that year. “It is called a ‘community effort’ since we heavily rely on our fundraiser to be a success AND our community members that purchase gifts from our Angel Trees in December,” shares the Rotary Club. “Any gifts that haven’t been purchased by community members are then purchased using the funds from the Vernal Rotary Casino Night. We want to be sure that every child enjoys the magic of Christmas!” This year’s Casino Night will be held on February 15th. Tickets can be purchased at Davis Food and Drug.
