While there are many choices that can have a positive impact on personal health, for those that use tobacco, quitting is likely the choice that will have the greatest overall impact. In the United States, about 500,000 people die each year due to tobacco related illness. Those numbers are hard to think about and Jake Isaacson, Health Promotion Director for TriCounty Health, wants those using tobacco to know that there are resources out there to help you quit. “This, [New Year’s], is the best time of year to quit,” shares Isaacson. “Most people that use tobacco don’t want to. About 70 percent say they don’t want to be a user.” Thankfully, there are many tools available to those who want help quitting. Talk to your Doctor.
