Most people will never know what it is really like to serve their country as a soldier but a unique way to gain some additional appreciation for those who serve is taking place this Saturday. The 5th Annual UBTech Ruck Run offers the experience to run while packing a ruck. “A ‘RUCK’ is what a veteran carries when serving our country,” shares UBTech. “Participate in this 5k wearing a back pack in honor of our veterans! You can choose the weight limit of what you’d like to carry, or carry no weight at all…We will have a flag ceremony with the flag flown in by Classic Air Med, a gun-shot start from the American Legion, and when the first runner crosses the line we will be firing off a Canon provided by Beers Harley Davidson…The route has dozens of American Flags displayed, we have a fallen soldier display inside our Vernal Campus and many other military details.” Run participants will receive a challenge coin and veterans will receive a free coin regardless of participation in the run. All are also invited to a Free community breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Race check in is Saturday, November 9th, at 7:30am at the Vernal UBTech Campus. The run starts at 8:00am.
