After a complete replacement, the Yellowstone Bridge in Ashley National Forest is reopen. The bridge, located on Forest Service Road 119 in Yellowstone Canyon, is now 24 feet wide and can accommodate cars, trucks, and side by side traffic. Work on the replacement began the end of September and closed part of the main road and ATV trail in the area. The replacement was planned due to the age and condition of the bridge in order to ensure safety to the public, shares Ashley National Forest. Work on the bridge was done this fall due to the reduced stream flow so new footings could be installed and hardened before the stream flows increase again. The cost of the replacement was $587,000 dollars.
