United States Air Force Academy Band Performing At Vernal Theatre: Live

Residents of the Uintah Basin are showing their support for those serving in the military by nearly filling to capacity the free concert by Stellar Brass ensemble of the United States Air Force Academy Band this Friday. Air Force Bands got its start in 1917 when 14 members set foot on French soil with instruments purchased from their lieutenant’s personal funds. Those early efforts have become 12 active-duty Air Force bands all around the world.  Bands are organized so that they may be subdivided into several smaller musical units capable of performing autonomously and simultaneously. The number, size, and musical capabilities of these groups depend on the overall size of the band and the local or regional needs. The Stellar Brass Band that is playing on Friday features a full time brass quintet with a percussionist. Vernal Theatre: Live is the last stop on the band’s tour.
