Upon last report, a bank robber is still at large after robbing a bank in Rifle, Colorado. According to the Rifle Police Department, the robbery took place on Tuesday at approximately 12:26pm at the Bank of Colorado located at 1200 Railroad Avenue in Rifle. The suspect was last seen “walking casually south towards the dispensary via the alley wearing dark colored clothing and a dark ball cap.” The suspect is described as what appeared to be “a Hispanic male in his late 30’s.” Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Parachute Police Department, and Silt Police assisted Rifle detectives and officers in the response. The FBI was also contacted. Anyone who may have seen anything or anyone suspicious in the area are invited to call Dispatch at 970-625-8095. Last week, the Bank of Colorado in Craig was also robbed. In that robbery a male suspect entered the bank and handed an employee a note demanding money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was displayed. The suspect in that case was described as American Indian, approximately 5’9” with a stocky build. Craig Police requested information be reported to Crimestoppers at 970-824-3535.
