A heavy police presence can be expected at select schools in Uintah School District this week. Uintah School District announced on Tuesday that K-9 officers from Utah and Nevada will be conducting training exercises at Vernal Middle School and Uintah Middle School. “Training will take place Wednesday, June 19th, at Vernal Middle School. Officers have asked that the building remain empty for the entire day while they work through various scenarios with their K-9s,” shares Uintah School District. “The training will move to Uintah Middle School
on Thursday, June 20th.
A limited area of the school will be used.” The community can expect to see a high police presence at both school campuses and should not be alarmed. The training will also include the presence of a Classic Air Medical helicopter.
