For those that hear the siren of the police, the fire department, or an emergency vehicle and immediately wonder what is going on this story is for you. This Friday, the Vernal Regional Airport will be having an airport emergency exercise. Federal Regulations requires an airport to perform a full scale exercise every three years. Vernal will be having their exercise near the airport Terminal Building and there will be many emergency vehicles coming and going along 500 East. Though people might be tempted to come watch the airport asks that the general public try to stay away from the area as they already have enough volunteers. Any distractions will interfere with training of the First Responders. The drill is scheduled for Friday, September 20th from 6pm to 9pm.
