Dinosaur National Monument always provides great experiences and opportunities through the many unique programs they host. The most recent experience was the 2019 Dark Skies Over Dinosaur astronomy festival. The festival was from August 28th to September 1st and featured 20 different programs. Solar viewing, ranger talks, Astro Junior Ranger programs and stargazing with telescopes were just a few highlights. The park had over 1000 visitors come take part of the event with ten volunteer astronomers representing the Salt Lake City Astronomical Society, Utah Valley Astronomy Club, the University of Utah, and the superstar Uinta Basin duo of Tom & Tom helping the park rangers. For those that happened to miss the fun, do not despair, the monument is already making plans to do it again next year and event suggestions are welcome!
