It may be hard to believe but a favorite DWR event is here again. Sheep Creek kokanee salmon viewing opportunities happen every September and the special DWR viewing event will be held September 14th. “Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, wild turkeys, sandhill cranes, red-tailed hawks, migrating songbirds, squirrels and a variety of other wildlife have shown up during this event in past years,” shares Tonya Kieffer-Selby, DWR regional conservation outreach manager. “If you have a pair of binoculars, a camera or a spotting scope, make sure to bring it with you.” The viewing event will take place in the Sheep Creek Geological Loop just off Highway 44. There will be signs posted along the highway to guide participants to the right location. As always, there will be DWR biologists on hand to answer questions. For more information, call 435-781-9453.
