Uintah County is spreading the word of a new scam in circulation. A scam letter is being sent to property owners stating, “Intent to seize your assets and property” with a large amount due immediately. “These letters are not being sent from Uintah County,” shares the announcement. “In fact, the office listed on this letter does not exist. If you have received this, please DO NOT contact them for payment, simply discard the letter.” Uintah County thanked those who brought the letter to their attention and encourages anyone who receives this type of letter, email, or phone call to contact the Uintah County to verify the information and to report the fraudulent activity.
