Outdoor recreation is the economic backbone of Daggett County and some projects in the works will only further support that. The Daggett County Commissioners reported on what projects are underway with County grants in their March newsletter. “With the backing of Seven County Infrastructure,” shares the Commissioners, “the ski resort application has been turned into the Forest Service for modification or approval. Once it’s approved, the NEPA study will be the next step in line. This is a long process but it is moving in a positive direction. This will bring new job opportunities not currently available in Daggett County.” The Commission also noted that the bike/walking path is also moving along. “The county has met with the Department of Transportation, Army Corp of Engineers, and USDA representatives moving through all the processes needed to begin construction,” shares the Commission. “The path will be a great addition for safe, fun, and enjoyable outdoor recreation.”
