The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the recipient of this quarter’s Outstanding Public Service Award is Mark Foley. Mark has been very involved in the community through the years. He has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, taking a turn as President from 1991 to 1992 and as one of the founding members of the Vernal Chamber Foundation where he is currently serving as the Foundation president. He has been involved in the local Republican Party, served on the board of Ashley Regional Medical Center, has served local families and youth through Boy Scouts and church service as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In October 2024, Mark received a new esophagus at the Huntsman Medical Center in Salt Lake City which has given him a second chance on life. The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce Public Relations Committee presented Mark Foley with the quarterly Outstanding Public Service award during last week’s Chamber meeting.
