Uintah School District leaders were among the presenters at the Utah School Boards Association Conference in Salt Lake City last weekend. “Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford, Human Resources Director Dr. Mistalyn Leis, and Secondary Curriculum Director Christy Nerdin were chosen to give a presentation about the instructional and teacher evaluation frameworks the Uintah School District has implemented to improve student learning,” shares the District announcement. “The district supports these frameworks through a systematic professional learning plan that incorporates six-week cycles. During each cycle, the district regularly conducts school and classroom observations. Feedback is then provided to school principals and instructional coaches so that adjustments can be made, if needed.” The District says this is raising the bar for student learning and improving the proficiency of USD students on state assessments.
