The actors of ‘Songs for a New World’, opening tonight at Vernal Theatre Live, seem to have found the cure for the January blues. The show only has four actors and while they undoubtedly have spent countless hours in rehearsal together, the group has also invested time outside of rehearsal making fun TikTok videos to flood the social media pages of their friends, families, and the community at large. While the videos are lighthearted and funny, the show itself is a unique blend of stories that covers the gamut of human emotion. The four actors in the show play different characters each time they take the stage as they take the audience on an emotional rollercoaster through song. Cast member Derek Meanea describes his favorite song as “emotional and touching with a really good message” and says the show is unique as it “makes the audience feel a wide range of emotions.” Songs For A New World runs January 17th through the 25th.
