A Fort Duchesne man was arrested after allegedly attacking another person with a hammer. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Jacob Minchey had been served a pretrial protective order on Wednesday. On Friday, the adult protected under the order and another person were ambushed as they exited a vehicle. Minchey allegedly was hitting the additional person with a hammer to the head while threatening to kill them. They were able to get the hammer away from Minchey and he ran from the area. On Saturday, Minchey came to their location once again but fled before being apprehended. That afternoon, he was located in a trailer park and was taken into custody by BIA officers. He was booked into Uintah County Jail for one count of Aggravated Assault and four counts of Violating the Protective Order.
