A man sitting in a stolen vehicle at 7-Eleven was arrested for DUI on Saturday in Vernal. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle was seen in the parking lot of 7-Eleven on North Vernal Avenue when an officer noted that there was a person in the driver’s seat with the brake lights illuminated. The officer initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot and found the driver to be 54-year-old Samuel Scott Lund who had a suspended Utah Driver’s License and an active statewide warrant. Lund said he drank approximately 1 pint of vodka earlier that day and failed the field testing. He was placed under arrest on the active warrant and was booked into Uintah County Jail on multiple charges.
