There’s been no shortage of public outcry and discussion online after the recent announcement that fees for the Uintah Recreation Center have increased. Uintah County provided a response on their Facebook page, stating that the Uintah Recreation Center is part of the Uintah Special Service District 1. “Uintah County would like to remind residents that the Special Service District and the programs the district administers, including the Rec Center, are governed by a seven-member Board of Directors,” shares the message. “While Uintah County does have a sitting member on the seven-member Board, the County does not have authority over the Board of Directors or the Board’s decisions.” A Uintah Special Service District 1 Board Meeting is scheduled for tonight at the Uintah Recreation Center at 6:30pm.
