The Utah Department of Workforce Services reports that employment for November 2024 increased an estimated 1.8% over 12 months, with the state’s economy adding a cumulative 30,900 jobs since November 2023. Utah’s current job count is 1,782,700. November’s unemployment rate stayed the same at 3.5%. The national unemployment rate was up one-tenth of a percentage point at 4.2%. Locally, Daggett County unemployment was reported at 4.2% with Duchesne County at 4% and Uintah County at 3.8%. “The state’s economy continues to grow with expansion across most sectors,” shares DWS Chief Economist Ben Crabb. “While job openings continue to trend downward, the unemployment rate has held steady for three months.
