A hard working crew of volunteers made up of many groups from the community have put in hours at the Golden Age Center this week ahead of the big Sub For Seniors delivery operation that took place on Thursday. This year, 800 bags of gifts and food were assembled, loaded, and delivered to over 400 homebound seniors locally to spread some Christmas cheer to this often overlooked and lonely group. Employees from Liberty Energy were among the teams of volunteers that spent the day delivering gift bags and visiting the seniors. “We saw a lot today and it was an eye opening experience,” shares Liberty Energy representative Rick Powell. “Each recipient was so excited and even just happy for a visit. This program is about helping the community and we saw first hand how much it meant to this special and often lonely group.” Powell said among the fun moments were requests to sing Christmas Carols which they happily complied with. Well done to the many volunteers from groups throughout the community who made the 10th year of Sub For Seniors a great success!
