Wanted Man Evades Police Before Arrest

A Uintah County man was arrested after evading police last week. According to the Probable Cause Statement, a law enforcement officer assigned to the Uintah Ouray Trails Task Force observed a vehicle traveling southbound on 7500 East believed to belong to Franklin Burson who was wanted on a Board of Pardons warrant. “After the vehicle turned onto the old Myton road, the law enforcement officer activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, who was identified as [Burson], attempted to evade,” shares the statement. “The officer pursued the vehicle until it eventually crashed through a fence before stopping at a dead-end road. [Burson], who was the driver of the vehicle, was subsequently arrested. [He] had on his person at the time of arrest a small container with methamphetamine inside it. A set of scales and a pipe were also found inside the vehicle.” 40-year-old Franklin Eli Burson, who also had a prior Possession with Intent to Distribute conviction, was brought into custody. His new charges include 3rd Degree Felony Failure to Stop at Command of Police, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and traffic Infractions.
