Veterans Day was celebrated locally, including within many schools. In Uintah School District, Naples Elementary held a flag ceremony on Friday, had a special wall containing photos brought in by students of Veterans, and a table was set for the missing and lost service members. Eagle View Elementary held a Veterans Day flag ceremony on Monday which included service members and the Red Spirit drum group. Vernal Middle School honored Veterans before school on Monday outside at the flagpole where they honored staff who are Veterans. Uintah Middle School recognized staff and students’ family members with a Veterans Wall. A large American flag and flags representing each branch of the military also hang in the commons area as a tribute to all who serve. American flags and images of Veterans lined the Uintah High School commons area to honor Veterans. Students at Ashley Elementary, like other students throughout the Uintah Basin, colored and created tributes to Veterans that were hung in the hallways. Well done to all that found ways to remember and honor Veterans.
