A complete count of the election preliminary results in Duchesne County are anticipated this afternoon. Duchesne County Clerk/Auditor Chelise Jessen reported to Evans Family Media that ballots would be picked up from the ballot drop boxes located around Duchesne County that evening and the Clerk/Auditor Office would resume counting the next day. As of Tuesday after 4pm, Jessen says over 50 percent of the ballots for Duchesne County had been processed but anything picked up from the drop boxes at 8pm and the in-person voting would wait to be tabulated on Wednesday. The reason for this, shares Jessen, is that it takes longer to adjudicate the Write-In ballots that are coming in for the Governor’s race and the Duchesne County School District #5 board race. Jessen anticipates all the ballots for the preliminary results will be reported to the Lt. Governor’s Office today by early afternoon. Results can be viewed on electionresults.utah.gov. Election results are not considered final until canvassing takes place in the coming weeks.
