Another day, another scam. This time the warning is coming from the Vernal Regional Airport as it came to their attention that there is a post circulating on Facebook implying that the airport is hiring for a cleaning position. “This is NOT true,” shares the official Vernal Regional Airport page. “Please do not click the link and please report the post.” As is the case with any scam, to protect yourself always call the agency or company directly by looking up the official number and asking them about any service or position advertised online. It’s also important to remember to never give out your personal information over the phone or after clicking on a link online. Always be cautious with any callers asking for payment and never pay for something in wire transfers, bitcoin or gift cards. Any caller that demands payment immediately without an option to call back is likely a fraudulent call. If you fear you have been a victim of a scam, contact local authorities for guidance.
