Billboards around the Uintah Basin are featuring some of the toughest beauties walking among us day to day. Uintah Basin Healthcare’s ‘Admire The Survivors’ this year features five local cancer survivors. “The purpose of this campaign is to educate men and women on the importance of preventative screenings and to inspire others to feel comfortable in their own skin,” shares the announcement. “If you have experienced cancer or anything that caused your body to look different from how society says we should look, we challenge you to follow these brave, strong women and showcase your beauty.” The individuals in the campaign are featured on Uintah Basin Healthcare’s billboards and social media. Among the inspiring survivors featured this year is 8-year-old Lula Beth who was diagnosed with a Stage 2 Wilm’s Tumor at age 3. “After months of misdiagnosis and a terrifying journey, she bravely endured surgery and 13 rounds of chemotherapy. Through it all, she remained strong and resilient, even dancing in the kitchen after chemo sessions.” On August 28, 2020, Lula was declared cancer-free.
