The superintendent and a principal in the Daggett County School District are accused of knowing a 13-year-old girl had been exchanging nude photos with a 21-year-old man and failed to report it to police or the girl’s guardian. According to a KUTV report, an investigation began when the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip but the superintendent and principal had known at that point for a full week and had been conducting their own investigation. According to the news report, police interviewed Manila High School principal Guy Gonder who admitted knowing about the situation. He also said he had been instructed by superintendent Bruce Northcott to handle the incident in house. State law requires anyone who suspects child sexual abuse or exploitation to report it to law enforcement immediately or face a Class B Misdemeanor.
