EMS Week Celebrates Locally

The Uintah County Commission declared next week, May 21st through the 27th, EMS Week. EMS Week got its start back in 1974 when President Gerald Ford declared a week in November to be National Emergency Medical Services Week. It was switched to the spring in the 90’s and has been going strong ever since. EMS Week is celebrated locally by recognizing EMS professionals for their commitment and care during times of greatest distress and emergency in the community. “It’s really important to recognize the first responders from police, law enforcement, EMT, and paramedics, the hours that they serve and keep up with the certifications they have,” shares Director of Gold Cross Ambulance Scott Adams. “I’m proud and pleased.”
