Uintah High School Students Honored By National Merit Scholarship Corporation

Two Uintah High School students have earned recognition by an elite national program.
James Kinsey and Lois Lyman have been named Commended Students by the National
Merit Scholarship Corporation. “Those who are being recognized as Commended
Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” shares James C.
Wittenberg, NMSC’s director of scholarship administration. “Recognizing the
accomplishments of students like James and Lois, as well as the key role their schools
play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence
in our nation. We hope this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities
and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.” Commended
Students are named among those who take the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test. Congratulations to both James Kinsey and Lois Lyman on
the well deserved recognition.
