The Uintah Basin Cattlemen Association is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for shooting cattle in Uintah County. According to Richie Anderson with the cattlemen association, 3 different head of livestock owned by three different ranchers were shot and killed last week in the area west of Lapoint. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the killings and the reward offered by the Uintah Basin Cattlemen Association is $2,000 dollars. Another rancher has added another $1,000 dollars to the reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible party. “A loss of cattle is substantial and puts a financial hardship on the rancher,” shares Anderson. “To have someone kill or harm several animals adds up to several thousand dollars in a hurry.” The Uintah Basin Cattlemen Association has clearly stated they will consistently and aggressively pursue prosecution in the death of livestock. Those with any information on the shootings that took place on or around Tuesday, May 9th, are asked to contact the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office at
