To say that water is a hot topic in the Ashley Valley would be an understatement and frustrated property owners are among the voices eager to be heard. The August 26th Uintah County Commission Work Session meeting opened up the topic during which the County announced they will  be hosting an Open House to discuss their holding of 119 acre feet of water from Red Fleet and its potential use for economic development. Several property owners in attendance asked that the County consider the need for housing as part of economic development and that individual property owners and developers are frustrated by the lack of options available to them for water hookups. Commissioner John Laursen responded that no determination has been made yet for the available water and the purpose of the Open House is to gather input from the community. Uintah County Economic Development Director Travis Campbell encouraged the Commission during that meeting to establish a straightforward process to guide the discussion and potential distribution of the water. The Open House is being held Thursday, September 5th, from 6 to 8pm at the Western Park.
