App Available for Trail Navigation

Trails in Uintah County are getting plenty of attention and focused trails committee members are doing all they can to see a usable, interconnected trail system developed for the Ashley Valley. Among the recent announcements has been an App that will make using local trails even easier. The STRAVA running and cycling App can be used to navigate routes for walking, biking, running, hiking or any kind of challenge. In February, funding was secured for planning trails and alternative transportation infrastructure in Uintah County. The Uintah Transportation Special Service District applied for the funds through the Utah Department of Transportation Small Urban and Non-Urban Transportation Alternatives Program and was awarded a $350,000 dollar grant. Approximately $100,000 dollars will be used on development of a small urban plan encompassing Naples City and Vernal City, and the remaining $250,000 dollars will be used on trail development though the rest of Uintah County. The trails committee is hoping plenty of locals will download the STRAVA App and then give feedback on it. More information can be found on the Uintah County Trails Master Plan Facebook page.
