The court documents are sealed in the case of a Utah County woman who had charges filed in 8th District Court last week and was booked into Utah County Jail on the warrant on Thursday. 52-year-old Amanda Kaye Bachman is facing charges of 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Kidnapping, 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Burglary, 2nd Degree Felony Obstruction of Justice, 3rd Degree Felony Forgery, and 3rd Degree Felony Theft/Extortion for events that allegedly occurred in Uintah County on May 15th and July 3rd. In January of this year, Utah County Sheriff’s deputies visited Bachman’s Goshen residence with a “Writ of Assistance to Remove a Child” to return a 3-year-old child that was in the home to the girl’s father in Uintah County, who had legal custody. On May 15th, three individuals were arrested and charged after forcefully entering the legal father’s home with the alleged intention of taking the child from him. Police arrived shortly after and the three were arrested. The new charges filed against Bachman are similar to the charges filed against Beth Marilyn Schardine, Ty Lucero Whetten, and Kaitlyn Anne Bachman for the attempted kidnapping that took place in Uintah County in May. Amanda Bachman remains in the Utah County Jail and is scheduled for a virtual court appearance in the Vernal District on August 26th.
