For the fourth year in a row, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office has a gift for the women of the Uintah Basin and beyond. They are hosting a Women’s Self Defense Super Seminar in September. “Please bring a friend or several friends, your mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and mother in law,” shares the announcement. “Every woman should have the opportunity to learn from the best and gain that self esteem and confidence to take control of an uncomfortable or possibly deadly situation.” Normally, a two day event like this would cost hundreds of dollars per person but thanks to the Sheriff’s Office sponsorship, it is only $50 dollars. The course instructors are members of the Gracie family, the pioneers of UFC and MMA fighting. It is open to all women, not just women from the Uintah Basin. Space is limited.
