Rains Significantly Reduce Speirs Fire Intensity In Daggett County

Rainstorms have significantly helped in reducing the intensity of the Speirs Fire in Daggett County this week. The fire’s operation has been taken over by Great Basin Incident Management Team 3. The Speirs Fire started on July 13th and is burning approximately 3 miles south of Dutch John and south of Flaming Gorge Reservoir. The last estimate on size reported the Speirs Fire at 759 acres and at 3 percent containment. A large team of 230 personnel have been working to battle this lightning caused wildfire.
