A visit to the Roosevelt Arby’s left one customer missing their financial card which was then used by an employee for a shopping spree. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, Roosevelt PD was contacted by the victim about a lost card that had been used for multiple transactions, including purchases at Family Dollar, Maverick, the State Liquor Store and a failed transaction at Smoke Mania for over $327 dollars. The investigating officer went to each location and obtained security footage at the times of the transactions. The footage obtained each showed the same man which the officer then shared online to obtain tips from the public on his identity. Multiple calls identified the man as Samuel Nielsen and the victim identified Nielsen as the man working at Arby’s on the day the card went missing. As a result of the investigation, 53-year-old Samuel Ray Nielsen was arrested on Thursday for Felony Unlawful Acquisition of a Financial Card and 4 counts of Misdemeanor Unlawful Use of a Financial Card. Nielsen’s initial appearance in court is scheduled for July 3rd.
