If your home, farm or property in Duchesne or Uintah Counties have had items go missing recently, the thieves behind it may now be behind bars. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Travis Kirk Cook and 29-year-old Shalae Jensen Cook are facing charges after detectives searched their home and located a cache of stolen antiques and memorabilia. The couple would sell the stolen items on eBay and a Facebook page called Small Town Underground Antiques and Collectables. Travis Cook was arrested during the June 27th search while Danielle Cook was already in the Duchesne County Jail serving on a jail sentence for a conviction in a prior case. The search was conducted at their home on 490 North Hillcrest Drive on June 27th and June 29th. Silverware, “Depression-era glass”, saddles, beer steins, a Prisoner of War journal, military citations and military uniform were recovered among other items.  A baseball-sized amount of methamphetamine was also recovered from the home. Cook is facing multiple charges in 8th District Court including theft and drug charges. Images of some of the stolen items are posted on the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
