A search warrant executed at an apartment in the neighborhood north of Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal ended in arrest last week. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the US Marshals, FBI Task Force, and Uintah Basin Narcotic Strike Force executed the search warrant and among those arrested was 26-year-old Devon James Scott Yonker who is facing at least 1 felony drug charge. “During the warrant service, Task Force Agents located empty plastic bags containing white residue inside of the bathroom of the residence as well as sealed bags of fentanyl tablets floating in the toilet [and] a baggie containing pills tucked in the couch between the seat cushion and the armchair. There were also large quantities of drug paraphernalia located in the front room and other locations in the residence…[Yonker] was asked if he helped with disposing of the drugs in the bathroom and he denied having any involvement.” Another individual in the apartment later admitted during an interview with the FBI that he was disposing of the drugs in the toilet when the Marshals were giving commands for them to exit the residence. He also stated that other individuals inside the residence, including Devon Yonker, were assisting with the disposal of the drugs down the toilet before they came out of the apartment. Yonker was booked into Uintah County Jail with an order to hold without bail. He is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Evidence.
