A man’s successful theft of a vehicle was spoiled on Tuesday when he was caught in the early morning hours. At approximately 12:50am, a Rifle Police officer made contact with an adult male driving a Rifle Police Department patrol vehicle. “Manuel Alberto Cabrera was taken into custody without incident. Investigation revealed that Cabrera had broken a window to gain entry into the police department, where he stole a radio and keys to the patrol vehicle. Cabrera did not leave the secured parking lot during the incident.” Cabrera was transferred to the Garfield County Jail, where he was booked on a long list of charges, including Felony Motor Vehicle Theft, Burglary, and Theft from a Building.
