A group of 11 teachers in the Uintah School District were presented with an exciting bonus check this week as part of Utah’s Effective Teachers In High Poverty Schools incentive program. The program was created last year and the District opted to participate with half the funding provided by the state and half by the District. In order to qualify for the bonus check, a teacher had to have a median student growth percentile of 70 percent or higher in at least 1 tested subject with at least 10 students over a full academic year or the teacher had to teach grades K-3 and achieve at least 85 percent of students whose progress assessed as typical or better within what Utah Code defines as a high poverty school. The 11 teachers awarded a check for $7,535.50 were LaRissa Goodrich, Robert Judd, Susan Moore, and Aneka Tanner at Naples Elementary; Tina Daniels and Rakeyl Gilley at Eagle View Elementary; and Heidi Hunt, Bernadette Ferriera, Judy Foley, Meghan Lemon, and Reen Slagowski at Ashley Elementary. Congratulations to all the recipients!
