Taylor Mountain Road is now closed as weather has delayed scheduled road improvements. “Recent rain, snow, and temperatures prohibited the completion of the project this past week,” shares the announcement. “The revised completion date and anticipated opening of the road will be May 17th. The road improvements include prepping and treating the road with magnesium chloride to improve it for the coming season. Magnesium chloride bonds the road surface and reduces dust and loose gravel. Weather conditions have to be suitable for proper placement and successful treatment.” Traffic following treatment can damage the work as well which is why the closure is important and all are asked to stay off the road.
