Former Flaming Gorge Days Fund Manager To Serve Prison Time

The former manager of funds over Green River’s Flaming Gorge Days event will serve
prison time for her theft of funds meant for the 2023 event. Wyoming 3rd District Court
Judge Bluemel sentenced Jennifer Nicole Melvin to 4 to 8 years in the state prison
followed by 3 years of supervised probation. Melvin changed her plea from Not Guilty to
Guilty as part of her plea deal. In July 2023, Melvin was arrested for larceny. Police
investigation revealed that between June 8th, 2022 and May 21st, 2023, Melvin had
stolen a total of over $42,942 dollars from the Flaming Gorge Days account. The
investigation also revealed that Melvin stole $34,551 dollars from the Urban Renewal
Agency account between January 14th, 2021 and May 30th, 2023. As part of her
sentencing, Melvin is also required to pay back the $77,494 dollars she stole.
